Art Lovers Converge in Aspen for Second Annual Art Aspen Aug. 6 – 8, 2011

Aspen, Co. (August 1, 2011)– Many of the nation’s top artists, art collectors, curators, gallery owners, and art patrons are converging again in Aspen August 6 - 8, 2011 for ArtAspen, the boutique art fair featuring 30 elite dealers. ArtAspen is held in co-operation with the prestigious Aspen Art Museum which is holding its exclusive ArtCrush fundraiser the same weekend. ArtAspen is produced by veteran art fair producer Rick Friedman.

ArtAspen takes place at the Aspen Ice Garden, located three blocks east of Wagner Park on West Hyman and 1st Street. A Stellar Roster of Exhibitors

For the 2011 ArtAspen, 30 prestigious galleries will display more than 2,000 significant art works and more than $100 million of premier art under one roof. During the 2010 inaugural event, Art Aspen’s 30 galleries generated in excess of $5 million in sales.

VIP Preview

Art Aspen will hold a VIP invite-only preview reception on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Several galleries will donate a portion of all art sales during the VIP preview to the Aspen Art Museum. Some of Aspen Art Museum’s visiting artists, including the following, are slated to make appearances at the VIP reception:  Nir Hod, Matthew Weinstein, Delia Brown, Lawrence Weiner, Rashid Johnson, Roni Horn, Richard Phillips, Josephine Meckseper, Will Cotton, E.V. Day, Luke Dubois, and Fred Tomaselli.
